The 72-year-old actress died over the weekend after a longtime struggle with lung cancer. Her character, in “Desperate Housewives” died less than one month ago.
Over the past 11 years, Kathryn Joosten had a hard time fighting cancer. Throughout these years she was diagnosed with lung cancer twice. “My first was in 2001 and my second was in 2009, two completely different lung cancers, one on each side” she told a reporter from The New York Post a few months ago.
Kathryn Joosten played the noisy Mrs. McCluskey in “Desperate Housewives” and made sure her character was accurate for all those suffering from lung cancer.
